Cronimet Holding GmbH

CRONIMET has been supplying raw materials for the stainless steel producing industry for four decades. As a family business, it has grown into a global player in this important supply sector. As the resource protection is becoming increasingly important, the Group is striving to further develop in these future markets.

CRONIMET is a global specialist for stainless steel scrap, ferro alloys and primary metals. Today the company is established on six continents at more than 70 locations on the worldwide procurement markets for secondary raw materials.

Four pillars support the company: Recycling, Trade & Sales, Production and Services. A comprehensive range of products and services is based on this solid foundation. It ranges from processed stainless steel and metal scrap to special and superalloys. Whether pure or precisely recombined, CRONIMET guarantees its customers exact analyses of all raw materials. If required, all components are provided in a chargeable form for the melting process.

In addition to Cronimet's focus on solid scrap, the subsidiary Cronimet Envirotec is treating metal-containing soft scrap from industries such as the automotive sector, steel mills, foundries, and others. With an innovative vacuum distillation technology, an environmentally friendly separation of materials without their chemical modification is achieved. With that, wholesome recycling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams can be guaranteed. Grinding sludges, oily mill scale, and other wet metal-bearing materials are dried and de-oiled at Envirotec's premises in Bitterfeld, Germany. The metal residues obtained in this way can be returned to smelter in the form of metal briquettes, as can filter dust and other metallic powders. Briquetting with the use of an organic binder enables the company to produce an output raw material that can be used as a substitute for solid scrap.
