International Stainless & Special Steel Conference 2024

Date:
Tuesday, September 17 to Thursday, September 19, 2024
(Welcome Reception Monday, Sept. 16)
Location:
Rome, Italy
Venue:
A.Roma Lifestyle Hotel
Via Giorgio Zoega, 59 - 00164 Rome, Italy
Motto:
Stay in the Game: Regain Competitiveness to Capture Future Growth Trends!

Stainless & Special Steel Conference is heading to Rome, Italy, in 2024!

After successful events in Hamburg (Germany) and Zurich (Switzerland) with more than 300 participants from the entire stainless steel supply chain, we will gather in Rome (Italy), in 2024. We will meet from Sept. 17 - 19, 2024 in order to discuss the current state of the global stainless & special steel industry and all relevant issues that will shape the business in 2025 and beyond.

Sustainability, green stainless steel, and digitalization have been prominent themes at the past three stainless steel conferences in Como, Hamburg, and Zurich. While these topics remain significant, the upcoming conference in Rome will shift the focus to innovative stainless steel applications, which are expected to be major drivers of future demand for stainless steels.

Furthermore, a significant focus of the discussion will address how the European supply chain can regain its competitiveness to ensure the continued manufacturing of these products in Europe.

Join us to discuss future growth trends and measures to ensure the competitiveness of our industry!

Cronimet Holding GmbH

CRONIMET has been a supplier to the stainless steel producing industry for over four decades and is the world market leader in stainless steel recycling. As the conservation of resources is becoming increasingly important, the Group is striving to develop further in these future markets and to constantly improve through innovation and research.

CRONIMET is a global specialist for stainless steel scrap, ferroalloys and primary metals. Today, the family-owned company is active on six continents with around 70 locations in the global procurement markets for secondary raw materials.

The company is based on the pillars Recycling, Trading and Processing. A comprehensive range of products and services is built on this solid foundation. It ranges from processed stainless steel and scrap metal to special and superalloys. Whether pure or precisely recombined, CRONIMET guarantees its customers exact analyses of all materials. If required, all components are provided in chargeable form for the melting process.

In addition to focusing on solid scrap, CRONIMET is also working on other innovative ideas to keep valuable metallic raw materials in circulation. The subsidiary CRONIMET Envirotec uses innovative vacuum distillation technology to recover metal residues and filter dust from metal sludge, for example from production processes in the automotive sector, steelworks and foundries, in an environmentally friendly way. These can be returned to the melt in the form of metal briquettes.

The CRONIMET Group's newest company, Revomet, deals with the recycling of batteries from electric vehicles. From the end of 2024, the Bitterfeld site will have its own facility for shredding entire battery packs and then separating them into their various components. This will further advance CRONIMET's efforts to keep valuable metallic raw materials in the cycle.

Sustainability, green stainless steel, and digitalization have been prominent themes at the past three stainless steel conferences in Como, Hamburg, and Zurich. While these topics remain significant, the upcoming conference in Rome will shift the focus to innovative stainless steel applications (see list of examples below), which are expected to be major drivers of future demand for stainless steels.

Furthermore, a significant focus of the discussion will address how the European supply chain can regain its competitiveness to ensure the continued manufacturing of these products in Europe. We also discuss the geopolitical challenges the industry is facing.

Join us to discuss future growth trends and measures to ensure the competitiveness of our industry!
