Collection, Processing and Storage of Personal Data

SMR Events GmbH collects, processes, and stores your personal data only if this is permitted by statutory provisions or if you have given your consent to this. The data is obtained by us in two ways: either you provide the data to us, or we collect the data when you use our services.

You may use our website without your direct communication of personal data. For some services, we inquire personal information from you to be able to provide the respective service fast and user-friendly or to be able to offer the service at all.

Basically, we do not transfer your data to third parties outside SMR Group (that also includes SMR Steel & Metals Market Research and SMR Premium GmbH) except from individual cases that are listed within this privacy statement (e.g. payment service provider, website analytics). We take appropriate measures to ensure that the data collected by us cannot be read or intercepted by third parties from the outside.

The use by third parties of all published contact details on this website for the purpose of advertising is expressly prohibited. We reserve the right to take legal action in the case of unsolicited advertisement.

 

Data Provided by You

Event Registration / User Account

Personal data is collected by us only if you communicate such data to us voluntarily when filling out the registration form. During registration we collect company name, VAT identification number, company website, company address (street, postal code, city, and country), first name, last name, telephone number, e-mail address as well as newsletter preference.

We will need the information for billing purpose. In this case the data has to be stored for a certain period as required by tax and commercial law regulations.

In order the access the full content and services of this website (e.g. download presentations of an attend you attended) you need to create a user account. This is required as we provide market intelligence, data and information that are copyright protected and my only be used registered user (legitimate interest in accordance with of Article 6, 1, f of GDPR / DSGVO).

You need to create an individual password in order to access the member section of this website. After logging in you have the possibility to make changes to the information you provided during the registration process.

Data that a user enters into these forms are used by SMR Events GmbH and SMR Group (SMR Steel & Metals Market Research, SMR Premium GmbH) solely for contacting purposes, which includes sending promotional material for services and events. Any forwarding of the data to third parties (except other companies of the SMR Group) without the express consent of the user shall not take place.

Based on your rights described below, you may at any time request deletion of your user account.

In case you pay by credit card, your data may be transferred to a carefully selected payment service provider. Any other transfer of your data to other third parties will take place only if we are legally required to do so.

Data obtained by us when using our services
