André Hempel is the owner and Managing Director of Hempel Holding AG in Duebendorf, Switzerland, which controls the international Hempel Special Metals Group consisting of eight companies with service centres making a turnover of more than USD 60 million with 90 employees. The Group specialises in the sale of high-performance materials such as stainless steel, nickel alloys and titanium. In 2016 the group started the international metal exchange www.econoxx.com for residues, cut pieces, overstocks and scrap in the mentioned materials.

Mr. Hempel studied Business Administration at the European Business School in Germany, France and the USA. After his studies, he worked for more than 10 years in international financial consulting and investment banking before moving to the family business. He has occupied various executive and supervisory board mandates for companies in the metal industry during his 35-years career.
