Primary Responsibilities
Mr. Markowitz is responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of Olympic Steel’s Specialty Metals business segment, which includes Olympic Steel facilities in Schaumburg and Bartlett, IL and Gary, IN, as well as subsidiaries Action Stainless & Alloys (based in Dallas, TX with six locations), Berlin Metals (based in Hammond, IN), Integrity Stainless (with locations in Streetsboro, OH and Latrobe, PA) and Shaw Stainless & Alloy (with locations in the greater Atlanta, GA area).
Previous Experience
Mr. Markowitz started Integrity Stainless, a small stainless steel brokerage, in 2005. In 2010, he sold his growing business to Olympic Steel and joined the organization as Vice President, Sales & Marketing - Specialty Metals. Since that time, both the Integrity Stainless subsidiary and Olympic Steel’s specialty metals market share have grown significantly under his direction. In 2018, Mr. Markowitz was appointed President of Olympic Steel’s Specialty Metals business segment.
Education & Professional Associations
Mr. Markowitz is a graduate of the Metals Service Center Institute’s (MSCI) Strategic Metals Management Program (SMMP) at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He is an active member of the MSCI and a former Board Member for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana.

Andy and his wife, Kelly, live in Solon, Ohio, with their two children.
