In January 2020 Craig du Plessis immigrated from South Africa to Canada and joined Global Stainless-Steel INC (GSSI) as the General Manager. In June 2022 he was promoted to Vice President responsible for both domestic and international markets in stainless, aluminum and carbon steel products.

Global Stainless-Steel INC is a mass distributor to the North American markets and an international trading company with an infrastructure in South America, Europe, China, Australia, and South Africa.

Before joining GSSI, Craig was a shareholder of Consolidated Steel Industries, a holding company of two main subsidiaries being Global Roofing Solutions (steel roof manufacturer) and Stalcor (stainless steel, aluminum, and steel service center to the African market)
