For the past 25 years, Gary Coates has worked as Technical Manager of the Nickel Institute, a not-for-profit industry association funded by miners and refiners of nickel.

Previously, Gary worked 24 years in sales and marketing for a major stainless steel producer. He assists end users to choose the correct alloys especially in regard to corrosion and wear resistance, high temperature properties, and fabricability including weldability.  He is a professional engineer registered in Ontario, Canada.
