Gianluca Gigli joined the Marcegaglia Group at the beginning of 2017. After various management posts in the stainless steel business as Quality Director at Marcegaglia Specialties, from 2019 he is also in charge as head of the Supplier Development for Marcegaglia Caron Steel reporting to the chairman of the group.

From mid-2005 to 2017  Gianluca Gigli was joining Thyssenkrupp AST covering several position in Quality control and Technical Sales.

From 1998 to mid-2005 He was working as a researcher for Centro Sviluppo Materiali, former R&D center for Italian Steel Industry

Gianluca Gigli was appointed to the Board of Director of Associazione Italiana di Metallurgia effective April 2018.
