Joaquim Boixareu has a Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from ESADE (Barcelona), l’École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) in Paris and New York University (NYU). He is Chairman & CEO at Irestal Group, a Catalan multinational company which processes and distributes stainless steel, and produces stainless steel welded tube. Irestal Group has a wide network of subsidiaries and locations all over Spain, France, Portugal, Great Britain and Russia.
His career has been always related to the stainless steel industry, where his father founded in 1945 the mother company of the corporate group that he manages today.
In addition to his job as businessman he is strongly involved in society at the institutional and associative level, and therefore has hold the following positions:

▪ Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Technical University of Catalonia ( UPC, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya )

▪ Member of the Board of the Metallurgical Association of Employers’ in Barcelona ( UPM, Unió Patronal Metal·lúrgica )

▪ Member of the Board of Trustees of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation ( research in the field of Alzheimer’s disease )

▪ Honor Member and first Chairman of the Board of Trustees of FemCAT Foundation ( Foundation of Top Employers and Business people in Catalonia )
