CRONIMET is a worldwide specialist for stainless steel scrap, ferroalloys and primary metals and supplies raw material for the stainless steel producing industries. The CRONIMET Group is a family-run business, since the establishment in 1980. Jürgen Pilarsky, majority shareholder of CRONIMET Holding GmbH, is one of three children of Günter Pilarsky, who founded the company.

Today, CRONIMET Group is represented with almost 1,600 employees spread on 6 continents. In 2021, CRONIMET Group generated a turnover of more than 3.5 billion USD and processed close to 1.6 million tons in the area of alloy steel.

Mr. Pilarsky graduated in social work at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences in the summer of 1988 and became a qualified social worker. He joined CRONIMET in September 1989 and worked there in the area of trading, purchase and sales. He is a member of the management board since February 2001 and since 2012 CEO of CRONIMET Holding Group. He is responsible for the CRONIMET product portfolio, for the supply chain management and for the compliance management. Mr. Jürgen Pilarsky bears the worldwide operative responsibility for the business areas Stainless steel and Specialty Metals.
