Michael Morgus

President, Ellwood Quality Steels

Mike Morgus is president of Ellwood Quality Steels in Pennsylvania, a leading supplier of high-quality carbon, alloy, stainless and nickel based alloy products.

Mike started his career working for Armco Steel, later AK Steel, in Butler, PA.  His career began in Special Capital Projects from 1990-1997 working on the North American Stainless joint venture, strip casting and new acquisitions.  From 1997 to 2004 he held various maintenance, quality and operations positions in hot rolling, then moved to the melt shop from 2004 until 2011 leading operations and the installation of a new 165 EAF and dual station LMF station.

In 2011 he joined Ellwood Quality Steels (EQS) as Vice-President of Operations and was promoted to President of EQS in 2013.  Since then, EQS has grown from primarily a bottom poured carbon and alloy ingot producer to a supplier with expanding capabilities to solve customer materials needs.

Mike has a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from the university of Cincinnati, a master in materials science from the university of Pittsburgh and a MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.
