Mike Manning is currently a Materials Engineering Fellow at Kratos Defense’s Turbine Technology Division.

Last time Mike joined the SMR panel he was Director of Business Development at Finkl Steel with a special focus on alloy and specialty steel for Defense and Energy industries. Prior to Finkl Steel, Mike spent over 20 years in design & manufacturing of equipment for the Energy industry with General Electric.

Throughout his career Mike has held direct and/or supporting roles in supply chain, manufacturing, new product Introduction, and quality across the automotive, aerospace and Energy industries.

Mike also served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy Reserve, and also as the Mayor of his hometown (Watervliet, NY). Mike received both his Bachelors and Masters in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, NY, and is a Certified Quality Manager (ASQ) as well as Six Sigma Blackbelt (GE).
